Elcock Associates Chartered Surveyors and Architectural Designers working closely with their colleagues at Ken Parke Planning have obtained a planning approval using permitted Development Rights to turn a dilapidated chicken shed into two family residences in St Leonards East Dorset.
The Agent for the scheme Ken Parke planning working with Elcock Associates who drew up the plans and provided CGI images commented that “The proposals involved the conversion of a semi derelict former chicken shed to residential use. This was a rather complex matter because the building did not appear to the council to be suitable for conversion within the permitted development rights. We put together a very detailed argument taking into account recent appeal decisions, case law and guidance to demonstrate that the structure of the building was sufficiently robust and capable of conversion. The successful outcome was the result of a good team effort. For me the best bit is providing a life changing opportunity for my clients to create a quality residence out of what was a derelict building.”
Adam Elcock MD of Elcock Associates further added “ Working closely with Ken Parke on this proved to be a great meeting of two professional practices and extensive negotiations with the Local Authority smoothly ensured this application flew through the planning system.”
