stigElcock Associates Chartered Surveyor’s and Architectural Designers based in Christchurch are to hold their second annual fundraising event for friends, clients and staff at the Captains Club Hotel Christchurch in October.

The event boasts two Guest Speakers one of whom is Ben Collins, better known as The Stig from BBC’s internationally acclaimed Top Gear TV Show. Ben coached hundreds of celebrities from Tom Cruise to Lionel Ritchie around the race-track, organised high voltage car chases and tested hundreds of priceless cars to the brink. Ben holds many credits: As a Championship Winning Le Mans Race car Driver, Bestselling Author, TV Presenter, World Record Breaker and Hollywood Stunt Driver.

Other Guest Robin Horsfall who shot and killed the terrorist commander inside the Iranian Embassy when the SAS stormed the building. He served with the SAS during the Falklands war and on subsequent counter-terrorist operations.

As the Stig, Ben Collins was the benchmark of speed against which all other drivers set themselves, and the man that everyone from Formula One World Champion Nigel Mansell to Jenson Button tried and failed to beat. He has raced successfully in almost every class imaginable, from Formula 3 and Le Mans 24 Hour competition to American Stock Car Racing. Jackie Stewart watching a young Ben winning a Formula 3 race, was blown away, “When you see the likes of Ben Collins in Formula One, remember you saw them here first.” It was, however, the moment Ben disguised himself in white suit and helmet, that he became instantly recognisable.

Adam Elcock Managing Director of Elcock Associates commented “We want this event to become the ‘go to’ fundraiser in the Dorset area for years to come. Coming from a military background and having served on operations and seen firsthand how returning soldiers and their families are affected by losing loved ones, I wanted to give something back. Raising money for these two great charities and being able to say thank you to our clients ticks all the right boxes and we are delighted to hold this as a non-ticket event with Elcock Associates covering all costs. The evening was a great success last year, with charity auction, celebrity guest speaker, great food and music. This year we want it to be even bigger and better!”
